2024 Volvo XC60 Electric, Changes, Specs – There are some advanced drivetrains to choose from and a unique interior design to go along with the midsize crossover’s stunning exterior styling. A 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generates 250 horsepower and 258 pounds of torque, developed by the basic model. The turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engines with 316 horsepower are the most powerful in the series.
The XC60 PHEV’s astounding 400 horsepower comes courtesy of a plug-in hybrid system coupled with a supercharged and turbocharged engine. A week-long test drive of the Polestar Engineered version added 15 horsepower to the mix.
Redesign
For the year 2024, the standard features have been updated. It’s no longer optional to get LED headlights, blind-spot monitoring, front parking sensors, or rear cross-traffic warnings. Power-folding, auto-dimming side mirrors, and 19-inch wheels have been added this year. Wireless charging pads have replaced AM radios in the vehicle’s entertainment system.
Many packages have been renamed and re-priced to reflect the changes, and park assistance has been removed unless you pay an additional fee. A considerable reorganization of features, both standard and optional, has also occurred. All Inscription models now come standard with massaging seats in the front.
Interior
The interior of the Volvo XC60 follows a concept of simplicity combined with elegance. This isn’t about flashy materials or provocative design choices; it’s about honing in on what we already know and then showing us how much we’ve missed.
To highlight their attention to detail, the vehicle’s interior has been expertly built by engineers using only the best materials. Aside from the more luxurious options that well-known European competitors offer, nothing is left in the cabin, which has enough legroom.
Engine
The XC60 comes with three different engine choices. The XC60 engine may be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission produces 258 pound-feet of torque and 250 horsepower. Compared to other premium SUV engines, the T5 in the midsize Volvo is a little less zippy. When you suddenly need a lot of power for a highway pass, it’s a touch slow.
Because of this, the T6 power station has an increased level of enthusiasm for its job. When paired with the same eight-speed automatic gearbox, the turbocharger and supercharger on this vehicle produce 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Despite the increased power, there’s a noticeable difference in how effortlessly the gearbox shifts into gear for both city driving and merging into heavy interstate traffic. The XC60 remains a competent professional in this configuration.
