With the addition of the supercharger, there is an increase in horsepower and torque of 295lb-ft for the T6. In addition to the T6’s 400 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque, the Recharge model gains an electric motor. Regardless of the engine, power is routed to the appropriate axles via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Our test car’s T6 engine provides decent power, but it’s not the most refined. The Volvo XC90’s engine can sound harsh and agricultural when the vehicle is working hard, in contrast to the buttery-soft turbocharged four, six, and eight-cylinder engines of the BMWs.
2024 Volvo XC90 Release Date and Price
There are a variety of Volvo XC90 trim levels to choose from. The Momentum outfitted with the T5 engine range from $49,000 to $55,600. Each AWD-equipped vehicle costs an additional $2,500 to register. The T6 R-Design starts at $62,650, while the T6 Momentum is priced between $56,950 and $57,450, depending on the model selected. The six-seater T6 Inscription costs $63,250 and the seven-seater costs $63,250. Starting at $63,450, Hybrid Recharge plug-ins can cost up to $69,150 or $68,750 if you go for the R-Design or Inscription models.
