2024 Volvo C40 Recharge, Models, Release Date – The Volvo C40 Recharge 2024 is a coupe-styled variation of the XC40 Recharge. As with other coupe SUVs, the C40 Recharge offers many of the same advantages as a regular SUV but with a more streamlined and low-profile form. BMW and Mercedes are two German car companies that have made a lot of money because they make cars that people want to drive for fun.
Volvo’s development of electric SUVs is far from complete, but the C40 Recharge is presently capturing the spotlight. Unlike the XC40 Recharge, which is also available with a conventional combustion engine and is marketed simply as the XC40, the C40 Recharge is the first Volvo to be developed from the start as an electric vehicle. By itself, this fact elevates the car to a unique status in the Swedish automaker’s almost century-long history.
Redesign
The C40‘s exterior is distinctive. Its coupe-like design is achieved with a lower roofline that tapers more sharply toward the rear. The taillights have been merged into the tailgate’s sides, and a tiny spoiler has been added for cosmetic and aerodynamic reasons. The front end is new and distinct from the XC40s. Is that not true? The C40 is a new look for all-electric Volvos, and we would not expect it to be different from other Volvos that are all-electric.
Volvo claims the headlights use cutting-edge pixel technology. Additionally, the chiseled lines running throughout the body, particularly on the sides, are significant stylistic elements. For example, the front and rear doors have an angled concave look. The contrast between the black roof and lower section and the paint color you chose is made even better by the blacktop and lower section.
Interior
The interior design of the C40 is practically identical, down to the dashboard and center console arrangement. Because the C40 Recharge is a more specialized model aimed at consumers who prioritize appearance above all else, it will be available in various colors and decor choices. Customers who are environmentally sensitive and animal lovers will be delighted to learn that this is the first Volvo to be totally leather-free. The C40 Recharge will use the same Android-based infotainment system as the XC40 Recharge.
This system was built in collaboration with Google and includes a slew of Google-designed applications and services, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store. Additionally, owners will benefit from regular over-the-air software upgrades. Volvo did not offer the inside measurements, but as is typically the case with SUV to SUV coupe conversions, back passenger headroom, and baggage capacity are sacrificed. It is logical to presume that is also the case here.
Engine
The C40 Recharge has twin electric motors, one on each axle, to power it. They are powered by a 78 kWh battery pack, which is slightly larger than the 75 kWh pack found in the XC40 Recharge and can charge to 80 percent in 40 minutes. Naturally, charging at home would take longer, and charging through a 240-volt outlet will take up to 25 miles per hour. Volvo predicts a 261-mile range on the WLTP cycle, which translates to around 210 miles in EPA testing, but notes that this number will increase with future over-the-air upgrades. Total output should be about equivalent to the 402 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque offered by the XC40 Recharge. Zero to sixty miles per hour is reported to take 4.7 seconds.
Release Date and Price
Volvo will sell the 2024 C40 Recharge exclusively online as part of the automaker’s recently announced simpler model package structure. Pricing has not been confirmed, but it is likely to cost more than the XC40 Recharge’s starting price of $53,990. State and federal tax incentives will contribute to cost reductions.
