2024 Volvo S60 Redesign, Models, Release Date – The Volvo S60 is an actual executive automobile that makes no concessions in terms of style. Compared to Mercedes-E-Class, Benz’s, and BMW’s 5 Series, Volvo stays true to its principles and places a premium on quality. Volvo’s 2024 S60 retains its clean and appealing exterior and interior styling but gains a turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine. All-wheel drive (AWD) or an eight-speed automatic gearbox is available with the powerplant.
Redesign
The S60 has dominated automotive design in recent decades. Volvo has built a car that is both aesthetically pleasing and terrifying. Recent changes, such as a redesigned grille, an updated version of Volvo’s Iron Mark, and a redesigned front fascia, have kept it looking young and contemporary. Taillight clusters provide an element of distinction to the rear end. Thor’s Hammer daytime running lights and dynamic bending LED headlights are standard on all models in the range.
The entry-level model, The other cars in the range, come standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the Momentum does not. In addition to the basic moonroof, all variants have a motorized sunroof. R-Design cars have black parts outside. Inscription models have a model-specific grille with a chrome bar insert and a chrome frame around the front of the vehicle.
Interior
Audi and Volvo are two of the most well-known automakers associated with popularizing minimalist interior design, and both do an outstanding job. On the other hand, Volvo takes a distinctly Scandinavian and pre-equipped approach. As we said before, the material is top-notch, and the many colors are soothing, natural, and pleasant.
Swedish-style design is also found in Volvo’s S60 R Design models. This is a welcome change from the cold and clinical German design that many people are used to.
Even the simplest model is crafted from real leather and has linear walnut inlays. While comparing the S60 to a high-end Scandinavian coffee shop is an unflattering comparison, it is accurate since the environment is incredibly relaxing and the comfort is excellent but easy.
Engine
Both the B6 and the T8 feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine. While technically impressive, it lacks the finesse of the German straight-six or V8 engines featured in the Porsche 911 Turbo. Both automobiles include an eight-speed automatic gearbox, but that’s about it. The T6 has a traditional all-wheel-drive system, while the T8 features an all-wheel-drive system that is powered by electricity.
This means that the front and rear motors have been mechanically separated and are operating separately. The T8 is basically a rear-wheel-drive car that operates entirely on electricity. The Volvo S60 T8 accelerates rapidly with its electric boost and even faster on the highway, courtesy of a whopping 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. The B6’s 308 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque are less impressive than the V8’s. Even so, the 48-volt mild hybrid system, supercharging and turbocharging all play a big role in this car’s impressive performance.
Release Date and Price
The S60 B6 Momentum in its most basic configuration is priced at $52,850. Both the Inscription and R-Design versions begin at $55,950. The T8 plug-in hybrid’s Inscription and R-Design trim levels start at $61,050. The introductory price of the Volvo S60 in the United States does not include the automaker’s $1,045 destination fee. Notably, the S60 PHEV qualifies for a federal tax credit.
