2024 Volvo V60 Engine, Redesign, Rumor – While Volvo’s V60 is still available in gasoline and plug-in hybrid configurations, it serves as a reminder that unconventional body design is still possible. Although the Swedish wagon has few direct rivals in the United States, including the Audi A4 Allroad, it has put on a show for us. We are happy with the regular T5 engine, despite its lack of power. On the other hand, the T8’s 415 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque more than compensate in the hybrid. Both cars offer sufficient space for people and luggage, making them fuel-efficient.
Redesign
The V60 has received some minor updates for the new year. All Volvo models now have blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, auto-dimming side mirrors, and an increased number of USB charging ports. The R-Design now gets glossy black exterior components, while the Momentum now features restyled 18-inch wheels. Although the Recharge plug-in hybrid has been rebranded, nothing else has changed. To accommodate the additional features, you’ll need to choose a higher trim level for your V60. Specific prior packages have been phased away, and the advantages of those packages have been distributed among the currently available replacements.
Interior
Genuine leather is used to create the pleasant and attractive interior of even the entry-level model. Similarly, the Momentum combines various distinguishing attributes, from comfort and convenience to safety. The fact that the Swedish engineers could organize everything so neatly is quite an accomplishment, particularly considering the cost. After a bit of experience, you’ll see how much easier it is to control everything from a single screen. As you advance up the scale, additional facilities are added, gradually increasing the level of luxury.
There is plenty of room to stretch out regardless of where you sit. However, owing to a shortage of shoulder room, three people may be unable to sit side by side in the back. However, three children may be accommodated. Passengers in the front seat will have slightly more legroom than those in the rear seat. Memory settings for many drivers are stored in two power lumbar-adjustable front seats and the driver’s seat. While the Recharge comes with more lumbar support and memory for the passenger seat, an extra package adds extra heating.
Engine
The 2.0-liter turbocharged T5 engine in the gas-fed wagon produces 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. These figures would disappoint the Audi A4 Allroad and Jaguar XF Sportbrake, two of our favorite fast wagons. The V60 retains more than enough power for city driving. There is no all-wheel-drive option with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
On the other hand, the PHEV is powered by a T8 engine. The engine is a four-cylinder, twin-charged unit, similar to the one found in the standard wagon. Due to the improvement, a considerable increase, it now generates 415 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque. The galvanic upgrade elevates the Recharge to an authentic sports wagon level while maintaining the Recharge’s smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date and Price
The Volvo V60 Momentum is just $40,950 more expensive than the R-Design and Inscription, both $46,400. Consider the benefits of the Recharge plug-in hybrid against its higher sticker price of $67,300 before making a final purchase choice. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price excludes taxes, registration fees, and delivery charges. Volvo’s price for the latter is $995.
