New 2024 Volvo S60 Facelift, Redesign, Engine – It’s not that the midsize luxury car won’t be fun to drive, but it won’t have the same degree of exhilaration as the more prominent luxury sedans. However, it is awe-inspiring in its control and riding quality. The aristocratic sedan may be outfitted with an all-wheel-drive system for enhanced protection. Because the ordinary S60 does not have the power we would expect from a vehicle in this price range, we will have to opt for the more potent T8 hybrid variant (now branded the Recharge).
You’ll forget about everything else as you sink into the luxurious interior, where soft leather and a host of comfort features keep you floating in euphoria. Meanwhile, the suspension absorbs almost all of the road imperfections. In the United States, the 2024 Volvo S60 may not be the sportiest luxury car today. For those who value quality above flashy extravagance, it’s hard to deny its pull.
2024 Volvo S60 Redesign
In addition to front-and all-wheel-drive options, the S60 is offered in three model levels. The R-bumpers, design grille, and window trim were added to the essential S60 Momentum this year, making them almost similar in appearance. The motorized rear child locks and front fog lights are gone from this model this year. Wireless device charging is now available in the top two trim levels, but the compass on the rearview mirror is no longer available.
The Advance Package now includes an enhanced cabin air filtration system as an optional feature. The leather-trimmed key fob is no longer available from Volvo, and the steering wheel is now made of non-leather material. New paint hues have been introduced, while others have been phased out.
Interior
There are a number of requirements for a luxury sedan’s interior to meet, and the 2024 Volvo S60 does not disappoint. Everything about it screams subtle Swedish elegance, from the materials to the design. Genuine wool inlays may be found in all price ranges, but the higher you go, the better the quality. There is less space than we would like, especially in the rear seats, and the trunk is scarcely usable at this point in time.
However, we can’t fault it for its extensive feature set. Of course, safety comes first, and there are a staggering number of driver aid technologies available. However, the available entertainment systems are also quite advanced. As a result, the nine-inch screen may be a challenge to use at first for certain users. However, after you’ve gotten accustomed to it, you’ll discover that it’s effortless.
Engine
In spite of its modest output, the base S60’s basic engine nonetheless manages to make the sedan seem lively. In addition to 260 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, the four-cylinder turbocharged engine is capable of delivering. Unfortunately, the eight-speed automatic gearbox that comes standard on all other models isn’t up to par. But if you require more than an acceptable charge, you’ll need the hybrid recharge.
The Polestar Engineered version of the hybrid T8 has 415 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque, while the regular model has 400 hp and 472 lb-ft. As a result, the S60’s most powerful engine is ideal for those who need to get there fast.
2024 Volvo S60 Release Date and Price
The Momentum starts at $39,250 while the R-Design and Inscription go up to $42,250 in the S60 lineup. The recharge versions are more expensive, as we’ve come to expect from hybrid vehicles of this calibre. At $47,650, the R-Design Expression and R-Design and Inscription begin bidding, respectively.
