New 2024 XC60 Recharger Release Date, Models, Changes – Volvo calls all plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) “Recharge” models. Still, the plug-in hybrid Volvo XC60 Recharge is the same fantastic luxury compact crossover SUV we’ve always liked. All plug-in variants of the T8-powered lineup are now referred to as Recharge models. The XC60 now has a new entry-level trim called “Inscription Expression,” designed to make PHEV crossover technology easier to get at an attractive base price. Adaptive headlights, a hands-free tailgate, and USB-C charging ports in the back are also included.
As before, adding a supercharger increases horsepower to 295, and the designation is changed to B6 (formerly T6). The interior has always been comfortable, roomy, and opulent, and the technology has been updated with the same hardware. For those who want a mix of power and utility, the 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge is also available with a 400-horsepower T8 hybrid drivetrain. Its segment competes with the BMW X3, Porsche Macan, and Mercedes-Benz GLC Class.
New 2024 XC60 Recharger Redesign
While the generational shift is scheduled for 2023, the 2024 Volvo XC60 will go out in style with its contemporary look. Even though it is a compact crossover, it appears sleek and fashionable. The entire lineup features front LED headlamps and distinctive Thor’s-hammer-shaped daytime running lights. The grille is finished in chrome or black, depending on the trim level.
On the side, the silhouette is kept simple and sophisticated while highlighting the 19-inch alloy wheels. For an additional $2,590, you can add 22-inch alloy wheels to the list of add-ons. Additionally, the 8.5-inch ground clearance is visible from the side. At the back, LED taillights to give the car a strong presence on the road.
Interior
The XC60’s interior design and luxurious materials are reminiscent of more expensive Volvos, so it’s like having your cake and eating it, too. Both rows of the cabin’s adult-sized accommodations are quiet and comfortable. We would not hope anything less from a modern Volvo than the XC60’s cabin’s Scandinavian design and high-quality materials.
The interior accents range from polished or brushed aluminum to wood, depending on the trim level. The rear seats are also quite roomy, allowing even tall men to sit comfortably. However, if you are taller than 6’2″, you may find it challenging to sit in the back. As a family car, it has a large trunk of 29.7 cubic feet and a lot of storage space all over the cabin.
Engine
The Volvo XC60 turns well, feels firmly connected to the road when cruising, and changes direction confidently, but it doesn’t make as many people want to start a riot as the Porsche Macan. In the Recharge models, the plug-in hybrid T8 powertrain borrows the B6’s engine and combines it with a set of electric machines for a total of 456 horsepower. Still, we have not yet had the opportunity to test this model.
Adding the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain to the Recharge or Polestar model increases the electric-only range to 35 miles. The 2024 XC60 T8 can be charged at a public charging place or at home via 110- or 220-volt outlets. Still, Volvo also provides a convenient feature that allows the battery to be charged when necessary by the gasoline engine.
New 2024 XC60 Recharger Release Date and Price
The 2024 Volvo XC60 is an all-new model and is anticipated to go on sale in June 2023. With the new Inscription Expression trim, a Volvo XC60 Recharge Hybrid can now be bought in the US for $53,500. The R-Design and Inscription siblings are priced at $59,650 and $61,000 MSRP, respectively. The price of the performance-oriented Polestar Engineered is $69,500. Prices exclude a $1,095 destination and handling fee.
