Volvo V60 2024 Cross Country, Release Date, Price – The Volvo V60 demonstrates that this body style is still achievable and available in various configurations, including the V60’s basic gasoline engine and the plug-in hybrid Recharge. Although there are just a few direct rivals in the United States, most notably the Audi A4 Allroad, the Swedish wagon has pulled out all the stops to wow us. We’re pleased, although the entry-level T5 engine isn’t mighty.
The hybrid’s T8 engine, on the other hand, compensates generously with 415 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque. Both drivers are thrifty and have enough room for passengers and baggage. Interiors in all Volvos are built to the highest standards and have all the technology you could want inside like they do in all other Volvos.
Redesign
The V60 got some minor updates for the new year. Like the rest of the Volvo lineup, each model now comes standard with LED headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic warning, auto-dimming side mirrors, and an increased number of USB charging ports. More precisely, the 18-inch wheels on the Momentum have been upgraded, while the R-exterior design’s components have been coated in glossy black. The Recharge plug-in hybrid’s name has changed, but nothing else has changed.
When customizing your V60, you’ll see that several formerly available packages have been deleted and their features incorporated into new choices. In contrast, others are now available only with a higher trim level upgrade. Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps to take dominance over the front fascia’s restrained grille. It does, however, retain the iconic diagonal bar of the Volvo emblem. Turn it around, and you’ll see a set of enormous, L-shaped taillights riding up the sides, integrated into the back bumper. The wagon comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, but the Recharge is also available with bigger 19-inch wheels with a distinctive design.
Interior
There may never be an unpleasant Volvo cabin, and the V60 will not be the first. The inside is large and well-appointed regardless of trim level, with natural leather available on even the entry-level model. Similarly, the entry-level Momentum comes standard with a slew of cutting-edge technical innovations to boost comfort, convenience, and safety.
Considering how much you get, it’s a miracle that the Swedish engineers managed to arrange it all so cleanly. While accessing everything on a single screen may take some getting used to, you’ll appreciate the absence of clutter. As the scale goes up, more amenities and a better level of luxury are provided.
Engine
Each engine is unique to the V60 standard and Recharge plug-in hybrid. The 2.0-liter turbocharged T5 engine in the gas-fed wagon produces 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. These outputs are insufficient for the sporty wagons we’ve grown to appreciate, such as the Audi A4 Allroad or Jaguar XF Sportbrake. Nonetheless, it’s plenty for lugging the V60’s gigantic rump about town. Only the front wheels get the power when you buy a car with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is not available.
The PHEV, on the other hand, is powered by a T8 engine. The engine is comparable to the basic wagon’s four-cylinder, twin-charged powerplant. On the other hand, Electrical components boost output to 415 horsepower and 494 lb-ft. The galvanic update brings the Recharge to an authentic sports wagon level, yet the Recharge retains the same smooth eight-speed automatic gearbox. Due to the greater power available, the hybrid V60 comes standard with an all-wheel drive.
Release Date and Price
Volvo’s 2024 V60 begins at $40,950 for the Momentum trim and goes up to $46,400 for the R-Design and Inscription trims. However, it would help to weigh the advantages of the Recharge plug-in hybrid before purchasing since electrified performance will add $67,300 to the price.
